'Action' in Online Poker

'Action' is the term that is used in poker under two main scenarios. Firstly It is used to describe the level of betting at a table. A player might state "There is plenty of action at the table", indicating that there is aggression (see aggressive) and lots of money changing hands - in simple terms players are there to play. The more betting there is, the more 'action' there is said to be.

The term is also used when it is someone's turn to bet. The action is said to be on that player. The term is fairly literal in its translation. A player might say to another "The action is on you" indicating it is that players turn to act.
