Every day we are bombarded with one offer after another and the notion that we can save money one way or another. Whether it’s an online poker bonus, a TV ad, an offer at the supermarket or a holiday we’re paying for – almost all these offers focus on how much we benefit and save from buying it there and then. Of course this is all a sham. The best way to save money is not to spend it in the first place, so i'm saving nothing.
Nothing is ever free. It might appear that way but there will always be a hidden agenda. The sad truth (sad as it's a waste) is that a company would rather give you another product free just so you buy the first one at a reduced price. It's all marketing and squeezing every penny out of the bottom line. That isn't to say you can't get a great deal - especially if you're needing the product your buying!
The marketing strategy of online poker rooms is to get you through the door. To do this, there are actually some very good offers but not many that give you something for nothing, in real terms. The real rewards really only kick in where you play poker for real money.
Most poker bonuses work in the same way as loyalty points do for any loyalty program. For any of you that have a loyalty card - say a Nectar Card and collect points through your shopping – the general principle is that the more you spend, the more points you earn – the more free goods you can exchange your points for. Most poker sites offer a standard sign up bonus amount. Whilst there are usually a few added extras, the core bonus is usually the attractive bit. A $500 bonus might be advertised like this: 200% up to $500.
For these offers, the initial deposit usually determines the amount that can be earned. In the case above, the most you can earn through the initial welcome bonus is $500. If it was 100% up to $500 – this would mean having to deposit $500 (100%) to earn the full $500. At 200%, you would need to deposit $250 to be able to earn the full bonus amount.
As you play for real money, you will earn loyalty points. The more you play, the faster you accumulate points. All sites have loyalty / VIP programs where they reward their players. The higher the stakes and more you play, the bigger and faster you'll earn rewards. You will generally need to earn a certain number of points to cash in points for the cash. So if they released $5 for every 100 points, you would earn $50 for every 1,000 points earned. To earn the full $500 you would need to earn 10,000 points. Can you make money? Of course. Remember, if you're playing anyway, this is an added extra which simply gives a little back.
There are also regular monthly bonuses for players which means regular play pays on an ongoing basis. There are many other types of bonuses that can be offered.
No deposit bonuses offers have their place but they come with a few governing rules. Whilst these offers will credit your account with a cash sum when you join, you can't simply withdraw this money straight away. If you could, the poker room wouldn't last long. There is usually a minimum amount you have to wager before they will let you withdraw these funds. What it does give you though is a way to start playing poker without having any of your own funds. Play enough and it's as good as free money.
These are free to enter poker tournaments and pay cash rewards from the prize pool. When you join a site, there will usually be two types of freerolls on offer. The first kind require a deposit before you gain access. These are known as depositors freerolls where rooms reward players who have deposited cash to their account. The second type is the genuine freeroll in which you get access as soon as you join. The latter of the two usually carries the smaller prize pool.
We pride ourselves on the offers we can provide players. As we refer players to these poker rooms, in return we get favorable promotional offer that we can offer you. This means in most cases, you get more joining through us than you will get visiting the site directly. The following offers have been negotiated especially for you. For more detail on what the offer consists of, please check our detailed pro reviews, which go into far more detail on each of the promotional offers.

Put simply, you won't find any offer that isn't 100% genuine. A bonus offer is tried and tested to ensure that i) it provides value for money, ii) it is what it states and iii) it is easy to clear. If each of these boxes aren't ALL ticked - it isn't listed, simple. Additionally, all our offers give you more than you would get by visiting the poker rooms directly. This is done to make sure that our players benefit to the best possible monetary value possible.
Please check back regularly - our deals and offers are refreshed at the start of each calendar month.
