An 'inside straight' can be made in online poker or live games. It refers to a straight where by you hold the card that completes one of the inner sequence cards to make the straight. Let's assume you hold A-8 and after the board is dealt, it reads 7-X-9-10-J. Your 8 makes the straight and would be considered an inside straight draw. It is called an inside draw as you have one of the middle cards that complete the run. The straight here wouldn't be the best possible straight (the nut straight) as a player could hold the KQ, for the nut straight.
