High Card in Online Poker

A 'High Card' is bottom of the stack when it comes to the ranking of hands in both live and online poker games. Where no other hand is made (no pair), High Card is the highest card possible from the best combination of 5 cards. If another player also has a high card, the Ace represents the best possible high card that can be made, then K, Q and so on.

For instance, in games such as Hold'em or Omaha, a hand of A-2-5-9-10 would be considered a hand of high card Ace. K-Q-5-2-3 would be a high card King and 5-6-7-8-10 high card 10.
