Folding Your Cards in Online Poker

A player is said to 'fold' his cards in an online poker game when he wishes to take no further part in the hand. The cards would in essence be thrown to the muck and the player would take no further part in the hand. The terms is used in all games whether online or live. The folding player would also relinquish any chips that he had contributed to the pot. The action of folding usually means that the player does not have a strong enough hand to continue. Folding can either be that there is no hand made at all or the hand the player has made isn't strong enough to warrant calling the bet.
